ARTIST & CERAMICIST: REBEKAH MILES

I've gotten to know Rebekah over the past year and had the chance to photograph her and the stunning wares this morning-- R is an artist who uses ceramic pots and plates as her canvas, creating whimsical paintings of wild flowers, Mexican iconography and animals.

Rebekah lives in Santa Barbara and sells her lovely items at craft fairs and at Beatrice Valenzuela's Echo Park store, in San Francisco at Gravel & Gold and in Portland, Oregon at Alder & Co. She teaches watercolor painting classes at a local wine bar and paints book covers for artists book's, breathing new life into these often-dusty tomes. I love her aesthetic, the playful mood and imagery she works with and the sturdy shapes of her pots. She is definitely one to look out for if you are in the mood to purchase something extraordinary!
